What a year!?!?
I'm sure that I'm the 5,495,423,346th person this year to say that. Events planned, shoots booked, and trips to be taken were all either rescheduled or cancelled entirely. Please don't take this as a complaint I'm incredibly fortunate to have my health, a wonderful spouse, a beautiful new home, great friends, and a career I enjoy. It wasn't all a bummer as I got to work on a few projects this year which were fun experiences that taught me a lot.
I'm writing this today to say thanks to Sony and their continuing Alpha Universe projects and events. I've written before about how I attended an in person event a few years back and had a blast. This past weekend they hosted "Creative Space 2020" with a wide variety of speakers, topics, and useful information. I particularly enjoyed Colby Brown and Kesha Lambert. I'm sure other camera manufacturers do or have done a similar event and I think in today's world it's a needed comfort. I really miss the experience of getting out with a group of folks who have a similar hobby to capture beautiful images, share knowledge, and build community.
Thanks Sony! I'm hoping 2021 finds us all back to a closer approximation of what "normal" is.
